Although Cardinal Hickey did not disband the community, his concerns of the community were serious concerns and the reforms he requested (and hopefully have been implemented) essentially gutted the pastoral and teaching structure of the Mother of God community. His concerns are echoed in the article by Adrian Reimers "Not Reliable Guides" and are indicative of the heresy Adrian talks about in the following post. Cardinal Hickey was able to ask for these reforms because Mother of God claimed to be a Catholic community and, therefore, under his jurisdiction. But what of those communities such as People of Praise and Alleluia who do not claim to be Catholic. It is my understanding that these communities still suffer from the same heresy that Mother of God did before the reforms.
